Designing Clarity Where Nothing Existed

Turning a complex space (the new Biotec clinic) into a clear, consistent experience people can trust (2020-2021)

Spatial Design | Visual System | Privacy & Transparency | Wayfinding | Brand Execution

Overview

Biotec was a newly established clinic with no defined visual or spatial language.

The challenge was not just to make it look good, but to solve a real contradiction.

The space had to feel open, while protecting patient privacy.
It had to allow visibility, without creating exposure.
And everything had to feel consistent across the entire environment.

I designed a unified system that translated these constraints into a clear visual and spatial experience.

The result was a clinic that feels structured, premium, and easy to navigate, while maintaining the right balance between openness and discretion.

The Contradiction We Had to Solve

Balancing openness and privacy without compromising either.

The space needed to be open.
But never exposed.

People had to see what was happening.
Without actually seeing everything.

These were not design decisions.
They were real contradictions.

And solving them defined the entire project.

Making It Work In Real Life

Not a concept. A system you can actually build.

The solution was built as a repeatable visual system.

Each room received a specific combination of glass treatment, graphics, and opacity.

Icons were used to define function without adding visual noise.

The horizontal lines created rhythm and consistency across the space.

Together, these elements formed a clear and controlled visual language.

What People Actually Experience

A space that feels open enough to invite, yet private enough to feel safe.

Visitors can sense activity without feeling exposed.

The space feels open, but never overwhelming.

Natural light flows through the clinic, while the graphics soften direct visibility.

Patients feel protected without being closed off from the environment.

The result is a space that feels calm, intentional, and thoughtfully designed.

From Concept to Impact

Design in Biotec was never just about aesthetics.

It solved a real spatial challenge.
Balancing openness with privacy in a clinical environment.

The visual system introduced clarity and consistency across the space.

Each element had a clear role, from glass treatment to icon placement.

It improved navigation and created a calmer, more controlled experience.

Clearer navigation
Patients and staff move through the space with confidence and ease.

Controlled visibility
Open space without exposure. Privacy without isolation.

Consistent visual system
A clear language is applied across all rooms and surfaces.

Stronger brand perception
From a functional clinic to a precise and professional environment.

What Biotec says:

“Working with Royi was more than a design project. It was a transformation.

He understood the rhythm and soul of our clinic, turning a cold, functional space into one that feels alive, harmonious, and inspiring.

Even years later, we still feel that same coherence and positive energy in every detail.”

What This Project Actually Did

Not just a better-looking clinic.
A system that actually works.

This project wasn’t just about improving visuals.
It was about solving a real spatial challenge.
Balancing openness with privacy, and creating a space people can move through with confidence.

From layout to visual language, every part was designed to work together.

That’s how I approach projects.
Not as isolated design tasks, but as complete systems.
